Medicinal use: The anthraquinone glycosides in Rumex lend the plant its mild laxative (aperient) action. Rumex is most indicated in chronic toxic conditions with debilitation, tendency to tissue stagnation (lymphadenopathy, ulcers, glandular enlargement)
