Medicinal use of Red Elder: Red elder was widely employed medicinally by various native North American Indian tribes, who used it to treat a range of complaints, but especially as an emetic and purgative to cleanse the system. It is little used in modern herbal medicine.

PREPARATION
Ingredients: 1.5 kg honey (sugar optional) 2 litres boiling water 2-3 medium lemons, washed 400g-450g of fresh elderflowers, de-stemmed. (Alternatively 200g-250g if dried elderflowers) 50g citric acid, or acid blend (available at any wine making store) Add all ingredients together, let sit for 3-5 hours
